We use Matomo, a self-hosted web analytics platform, to understand how visitors use our site — for example, which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived at the site, and general visit patterns. Matomo runs on servers we own and control; no analytics data is sent to Google, Meta, or any other third-party analytics provider.

Our analytics are configured to run without cookies. No tracking cookie is placed on your device when you visit circlebound.ca, and as a result no cookie consent banner is required or shown.

Information collected through analytics may include:

  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • Referring website or search engine, and campaign source (e.g., a link from a Facebook ad)
  • General device and browser information (browser type, operating system, screen size)
  • Approximate geographic location, derived from IP address (city/region level, not precise location)
  • IP address, which is anonymized before being stored — the last two bytes of your IP address are masked (e.g., 192.168.xxx.xxx), so the full address is never retained

This data is aggregated and used only to understand overall site usage and campaign performance. We do not use it to build individual visitor profiles or to identify you personally.

If you submit our contact form, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, and message — in order to respond to your inquiry. This information is sent to us directly and is not shared with third parties except as needed to deliver your message (e.g., our email service).

Because our analytics are aggregated, cookieless, and IP-anonymized, we generally cannot associate analytics data with a specific individual, including you. Requests relating to analytics data are therefore limited to what can reasonably be identified.
